Hello new character!
It’s here! My copy of Dragon Age arrived and I was so well-behaved I didn’t even open it up until I’d made dinner and mostly pretended to do my work for the day.
I’m such a good girl. Really. I deserve a cookie.
Or not, since I did have a to-do list that needed accomplishing before I actually got around to playing, but I convinced myself that just installing the game wouldn’t hurt. And then I had to configure it. And connect to the server. And then, well, hitting play was just a test run, you see. To make sure everything was working.
The part where I kinda made a character was less excusable, except oh my God can you blame me? Look at that! She’s awesome! Clearly I had no choice except spending the next fifteen minutes adjusting the size of her nose and the shape of her eyes and the precise color and placement of her tattoos, because well…
Errr. I had a reason. I can’t remember it right now, but I did!
I was actually pretty thrilled, because most of the promo stuff I read seemed to indicate a male character, but it’s possible that was only about their target audience. I was excited to play this game, but I am not ashamed to admit I’m more excited to get to play as a chick. Girls wanna save the world too, okay?
Speaking of…I’m gonna get back to saving the world. But not until I post this incredibly awesome screenshot of just how pretty this game is. (Click for big beautiful screenshot of awesomeness!)

So the question is, and I truthfully don’t know, can you still have romantic relations with the other females in the game?
Or are they going to force you upon Alistair or something? These are things that you need to continue updating us on. Inquiring minds want to know!
Rumor has it there are three possible romantic interests no matter which gender you play, so variety is the spice of life?
Will most certainly be logging my adventures!
I’m sooo jealous.
Yeah, I just got past some of the ‘romance’ parts… lots of options here. You can go guy-girl, guy-guy, girl-girl, three-way (FFM or MMF), and even four-ways (MMFF or FFFM). Besides those, there are the ‘wildcard’ options which are sort of jokes rather than real encounters, really… a pair of goat-type animals, a whip, a ‘magic hammer’, a set of tools, and a crossdressing dwarf who REALLY needs some fashion help. IIRC, this is the BioWare game with the most all-around options. Not like I’ve done the research or anything. = )
